Elizabeth Aris appointed CEO & Managing Director
Change at the top for TasmaNet.
TasmaNet has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Aris as Chief Executive Officer.
She is replacing Joel Harris, who has chosen to seek new opportunities. Mr Harris has led TasmaNet for more than 10 years and seen the company grow into the vibrant business it is today, serving businesses and government throughout Tasmania with innovative, transformative communications solutions. He will finish with TasmaNet on June 15, but continue as a consultant.
Ms Aris joined TasmaNet in April. She is a senior business executive and non-executive director with experience in the US (New York), Asia-Pacific (Shanghai) and Australia in global Fortune 500’s in telecommunication, technology and retail banking. She has worked with Telstra, Alcatel-Lucent (now Nokia), and Westpac and consulted to Microsoft and Sprint.
She is also a digital technology entrepreneur who has developed a new SaaS business from concept to capital raising and governance, technology build and all operations. Ms Aris returned to Australia recently after five years in the USA. She has worked with a small team of global telecommunication experts led by Sol Trujillo on a number of major projects and as advisor to the CEO of Sprint. She is a non-executive director of Australian-listed Vivid Technology, and an Advisory Board member to Agility Executive Search based in New York.
TasmaNet offers superfast Internet speeds to almost all Australian cities and territories using nbn™ Enterprise Ethernet technology, connecting businesses with symmetrical speeds up to 1 Gbps delivered over dedicated fibre installed to each site. Such speeds are 10 times faster than the top nbn™ download speeds of 100 Mbps offered by most Internet service providers. Uploads using conventional nbn™ services are also much slower.
“TasmaNet connected the first nbn™ Enterprise Ethernet service in Australia earlier this year after being among the first providers accredited to sell the new product, and has recently sold the largest deal to date to the Catholic Education Office in Tasmania,” said Ms Aris.
We have developed robust systems that allow us to deliver multiple upgraded connections quickly, and our direct relationship with nbn as a wholesale provider means we can manage complex projects with minimal service interruption to customers. Our customers enjoy Internet connections far better than the regular nbn™ product, for a similar price.
TasmaNet is one of a very few nbn™ resellers accredited to provide the product, which is much less expensive than the alternative products customers would have bought in the past.
